1. When milling irregular workpieces or using a vise, dividing head, or special fixture to hold the workpiece, position the center of gravity of the workpiece-as well as the vise, dividing head, or fixture-as close to the center of the machine table as possible. This prevents uneven loading and potential deformation of the table.
2. During rapid traverse or automatic feed milling, do not allow the table to travel to its extreme limits, as this could damage the lead screw.
3. Do not use the machine's power feed for tool setting; tool setting must be performed manually.
4. When reversing the direction of the table, first move the reversing handle to the neutral (middle) position before changing direction; direct reversal is prohibited.
5. When milling keyways in shafts or cutting thin workpieces, take strict precautions to avoid damaging the dividing head or the surface of the machine table.
6. When face milling, use a cutter head with four or more inserts and select appropriate cutting parameters to prevent machine vibration during the process.
