Deep hole EDM drilling adopts electrode tubular copper pipe, relies on pulse spark discharge to erode material for tiny hole penetration processing. It belongs to non-contact thermal erosion machining mode, free from cutting force constraint.

This technology is specially developed for micro-apertures, ultra-deep holes, oblique holes, dense array pinholes and hardened workpiece holes which conventional drill bits cannot process smoothly.

All conductive metal materials are compatible for deep hole EDM machining:

Stainless steel, hardened tool steel, alloy steel, tungsten steel, titanium alloy, brass, copper, Kovar and quenched mold steel.

Definitely yes. Spark erosion machining ignores material hardness, quenched mold steel and stainless steel can be drilled directly.

4. Why choose EDM drilling instead of CNC drill for deep tiny holes?

Tiny drill bits easy to break, deflect and deviate on deep holes. EDM electrode pipe slender and stable, guarantee straightness of deep micro holes.

5.Is inclined hole machining available for deep hole EDM?

Yes, angular inclined through holes and side lateral holes are supported.

6.What metal materials are unavailable for deep hole EDM processing?

Insulating plastic and ceramic cannot be processed; all conductive metals are acceptable.
